New DP Studio Online Website

We have launched our new website one month ago, in the beginning of March, and we have received a lot of feedback from our friends and visitors. Thank you all, the experiences and opinions you have shared with us about the new version of Fine Arts Boutique are truly priceless. During the same time, we have continued to work on the remaining parts of our project, and we are excited to announce today, that we have successfully reached its next milestone and launched the new version of the DP Studio Online website.

We have designed the first version of DP Studio Online in 2007 with less than modest resources and funds available. That website has been our first endeavor and a big experiment in design of an online art gallery. Although, the gallery looked and worked well, based on the visitors' feedback we received, we have realized that the website should undergo certain changes soon after its initial launch. We have realized that necessity due to several reasons.

The old website has been designed, using HTML and CSS languages only, and it has been awfully hard for our team to add new and modify existing information, because it had to be done by manual coding, and every change took a long time to become available online.

The navigation of the old website has been designed with the same technological constraint taken into account, and every click would load a new page, which required to maintain a large collection of pages per se, and which also posed a major difficulty for creating an effective and dynamic interaction schemas for a variety of information needs of the site visitors.

The viewing experience in the old gallery has been far from what we considered as a desirable. On our end we had to prepare multiple versions of images in different sizes and upload them manually, again, spending a lot of time in the process. On the visitors' end we could only render full images in one size, thus making the visitors with slow Internet connections suffer from overly long page loads and leaving an ever-increasing number of the large monitor owners way behind the mark of optimal experience.

Finally, in 2009, we have reached the point, when we could not deal with the old and, by that time, completely outdated version of DP Studio Online, and we have planned its complete redesign as a part of the Fine Arts Boutique website redesign project. We have launched the new version of DP Studio Online soon after the launch of the new Fine Arts Boutique, in the end of March, and have been excited to see an immediate increase in the number of new and returning visitors.

The new version of DP Studio Online resembles the Fine Arts Boutique website in many ways. It uses the same visual layout, it employs the same gallery viewer, and it presents the same information about Dmitriy Pavlov and his artwork portfolio. Though, there are some differences that are worth noting. The DP Studio Online website represents Dmitriy Pavlov and his artwork only, it features the content in English only, and it has a lot less interactive features than the Fine Arts Boutique website.

Our friends and visitors are welcome to both of the websites, since we have designed them to be as informative, functional, and user-friendly as we could possibly imagine. We are always glad to hear from you, so please let us know what you like or dislike in the new DP Studio Online or Fine Arts Boutique by sending us a message from either website. We look forward to continue to improve both of our projects by adding new features and modifying existing ones, and it is truly important for us to know, what you think we should do to make these websites even better and more useful for you and other visitors.
